Join OHRSA
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to the provincial industry association that represents Ontario home oxygen providers. OHRSA is a 16-year-old, not-for-profit association representing approximately 95% of oxygen providers in Ontario. The association membership is reflective of the industry in this province -- from two person, family run businesses to large multi-national corporations, each holding an equal voice at the OHRSA Board table.
The most important function and benefit of membership we provide is Government Relations. OHRSA is fortunate to have established an excellent relationship with one of Ontario's most effective lobbying firms. Sussex Strategy Group and Paul Pellegrini as its registered lobbyist have supplied services to the association for the past 15 years. Paul has a long history with this liberal government and enjoys a tremendous working relationship with Health Minister David Caplan and Premier McGuinty. Although, in relative terms, our industry is small, Paul's access to key decision makers at Queens Park allows us to provide input on health policy and most importantly gives us the intelligence we need to negotiate the best possible rate for our members.
Our association magazine is Inspirations (advertising is discounted for OHRSA members). The magazine has a circulation of over 8,000 copies including Ontario doctors, hospitals and long-term care facilities, and like-minded associations (to name a few).
All OHRSA members, whether they advertise or not, receive 50 free copies to distribute to their clients. OHRSA is instituting a monthly member e-newsletter and our website is being revamped to make it more consumer friendly and more useful to our members. Also available are flyers from our benefit partners LeNourey Law and PPI insurance outlining their specific services to OHRSA members.
